Shalwar Kameez 2013
is a dress worn usually in the sub-continent by both ladies and gents. Shalwar kameez basically consist of Shalwar which is a trouser but very loose, the legs are loose from top till bottom but gets lightly narrow at the ankle. The kameez is a long tunic type shirt; the sides of the shirt, also known as chaak are left open below the waist line to provide the wearer a freedom of movement. This particular design of Shalwar kameez is worn by both men and women. However, women in some cases take duppata or chadar over it, it is taken around the neck or on the head in order to cover their head. Shalwar kameez is also the national dress of Pakistan. The shalwar kameez sometimes known as the Punjabi Suit especially in Canada and England, as in these countries this dress is mostly worn by Punjabi Sikh ladies from India. Initially in India shalwar Kameez was only worn by Sikh ladies in northern Punjab but due its popularity, it has been adopted as an alternative for sarees and has now gained popularity across the country.
